Topiramate Indications

Epilepsy. As monotherapy for treatment of patients with newly diagnosed epilepsy or for the transition of patients with epilepsy on monotherapy.

As adjunctive therapy for the treatment of adults and children over the age of 3 years, with partial or generalized tonic-clonic seizures.

As adjunctive therapy for the treatment of adults and children with seizures associated with Lennox – Gastaut syndrome.

Migraine. For the prevention of migraine in adults.

Contradictions

Hypersensitivity to any component of the drug; pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Dosage & Administration

Иoth adults and children, it is recommended to start treatment with the lowest dose with further gradual selection of effective dose.

The drug can be taken regardless of meals.

Epilepsy
Monotherapy
Adults. dose selection should begin with 25 mg topiramate reception at night during the week. Further dose can be increased to 25-50 mg for 1 or 2 weeks and taking it in 2 hours.
