Composition
active ingredient: testosterone;
1 g of gel contains 16.2 mg of testosterone;
excipients: isopropyl myristate, ethanol 96%, carbomer (carbopol 980), sodium hydroxide 0.1 N, purified water.

Indications
It is used as testosterone replacement hormone therapy in adult men with hypogonadism, if its deficiency is confirmed by the clinical course and laboratory tests.

Application method
For external use (on the skin).

Adult men and elderly men

The recommended dose is 2 presses of the dosing device (40.5 mg of testosterone) once a day, preferably at the same time in the morning. The daily dose can be adjusted by the doctor individually for each patient depending on the clinical effect and the results of laboratory control, but should not exceed 4 pressures of the dosing device (81 mg of testosterone) per day. Dose correction should be done by adding one click on the dosing device.

The dose should be increased gradually, taking into account the level of testosterone in the blood in the morning before applying the gel. The equilibrium concentration of testosterone in the blood is usually reached on the second day of treatment with Androgel. To adjust the testosterone dose, blood testosterone concentrations should be measured the morning before gel application after steady state has been reached. Testosterone levels in the blood should be periodically evaluated. The dose can be reduced if the concentration of testosterone in the blood turns out to be high. If the concentration is low, the dose can be gradually increased, but it should not exceed 81 mg of gel per day (4 clicks on the dosing device).

Therapy should be discontinued if blood testosterone levels consistently exceed the normal range at the lowest daily dose of 20.25 mg (1.25 g of gel, equivalent to one push of the dosing device) or if at the highest dose of 81 mg of testosterone (5 g gel, which is equivalent to four presses on the dosing device) testosterone levels in the blood do not reach the range of normal values.

Application method

The gel should be applied by patients on clean, dry, healthy skin on both shoulders and upper arms.

The gel should be applied with light movements, spreading it over the skin in a thin layer. The gel should not be rubbed into the skin. Allow to dry for at least 3-5 minutes before dressing. After applying the gel, wash your hands with soap and water and cover the application area with clothing after the gel dries. In any situations where close contact of the gel application site with another person is expected, the site of application of the medicinal product should be thoroughly washed with soap and water.

Do not apply the gel to the genitals, as alcohol in high concentration can cause local irritation.

To receive the first dose, it is necessary to fill the dosing device. To do this, holding the bottle in a vertical position, it is necessary to make three slow and full presses on the dosing device. The gel should be safely disposed of after the first three presses. The dosing device must be filled only before the first use.

After the filling procedure, one full push of the dosing device should be used to release 1.25 g of Androgel medicine into the palm of the hand and then applied to the shoulders and upper arms.
