Remdesivir Lyophilized 100mg

Remdesivir (Remdesivir; development code GS-5734) is a new antiviral drug in the class of nucleotide analogs.

Remdesivir belongs to a class of antiviral drugs that inhibit RNA-dependent RNA polymerase, an enzyme necessary for the replication of a number of RNA viruses. Since inhibition of the enzyme interferes with viral replication in infected cells, it exhibits antiviral activity against a number of single-stranded RNA viruses such as Ebola virus, Marburg virus, human respiratory syncytial virus, Junin virus, Lassa fever virus, virus Nipah, Hendra virus and coronaviruses (including MERS and SARS viruses)

Its use for the treatment of people with COVID-19 was substantiated, and (based on the previously adopted treatment regimen for the disease caused by the Ebola virus) a 10-day regimen of remdesivir treatment was proposed: on the 1st day 200 mg followed by maintenance doses of 100 mg once daily for 9 days
