Phthalylsulfathiazole Indications
– acute dysentery (shigellosis)
– chronic dysentery in the stage of exacerbation
– colitis, enterocolitis, gastroenteritis
– for prevention of infectious complications during operations on the intestines
Contradictions
– increased individual sensitivity to phthalylsulfatiazole, sulfanilamide preparations and / or other components of the drug
– basil disease
– blood diseases
– acute hepatitis
Dosage & Administration
Adults and children 12+
In the acute form of dysentery, adults and children under the age of 12 years should be prescribed:
1-2 days – 1 g 6 times a day (every 4 hours)
3-4 days – 1 g 4 times a day (every 6 hours )
5-6 days – 1 g 3 times a day (every 8 hours)
Course dose is 25-30 g.
