Normatens 20 tablets

Normatens Composition:
active ingredients: clopamidum (clopamide), dihydroergocristinum (as dihydroergocristine mesylate), reserpinum (reserpine);
1 tablet contains Clopamid 5 mg dihydroergocristine 0.5 mg (in the form of dihydroergocristine mesilate – 0.58 mg), reserpine 0.1 mg;
excipients: lactose monohydrate, potato starch; povidone, magnesium talc sucrose stearate; gum arabic; mixture of carnauba wax and white wax.

Indications

Essential hypertension and all forms of symptomatic arterial hypertension, where monotherapy is not effective.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to sulfonamides, reserpine and ergot alkaloids and other ingredients. Hypokalemia.

Reserpine.

Depression (now or in history), Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, electroconvulsive therapy. Peptic ulcer and duodenal ulcer in acute ulcerative colitis; pheochromocytoma, accompanying or recent treatment of MAO inhibitors.

Thiazide diuretics.

Severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance less than 30 mL / min); liver failure; hyponatremia; hyperuricemia.

Dosage & Administration

The drug can be used in combination with other antihypertensive agents, such as beta-blockers and vasodilators.

The dosage determined by the physician individually for each patient.

It is recommended to start treatment with 1 tablet 1 time per day. Depending on the effectiveness of treatment and severity of side effects the dose may be increased to 3 tablets 1 per day when using 3 methods. However we must remember that, given the mechanism of action and pharmacological properties of certain active substances drug treatment can only be considered ineffective because of the lack of a positive effect 14 days after initiation of therapy. Thus, the dose can be increased unnecessarily.

The expected therapeutic effect is observed in about 1-4 weeks.

The dosage should be increased gradually.

The total effective dose is 1 tablet 1 time per day. However, in some patients, the total effective dose is one tablet a day. In the absence of a satisfactory hypotensive effect dose should be increased to 1 tablet twice a day, and in exceptional cases – 1 tablet three times a day (do not use higher doses).

The tablet should be taken during or immediately after a meal.

Dosage in elderly patients. No need for dosage adjustment. But be careful because of an increased risk of hypotension and violation of electrolytes in the blood.

Dosage for patients with kidney failure and liver. Do not use the drug to patients with severe impairment of liver and kidney (creatinine clearance below 30 ml / min).
