Livazo 1-2-4mg 30 tablets (Pitavastatin)

Livazo Composition:
active ingredient: calcium pitavastatin; 1 coated tablet contains 1.045 mg pitavastatin calcium equivalent to 1 mg pitavastatin; excipients: lactose, low-substituted hydroxypropyl cellulose, hypromellose, magnesium aluminum silicate, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide (E 171), triethyl citrate, colloidal silicon dioxide.

Indications

To reduce elevated total cholesterol (TC) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) in adults, adolescents, and children over 6 years of age with primary hypercholesterolemia, including heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia and combined (mixed) dyslipidemia, when response to diet and other non-drug therapy is not enough.

Contraindications

– Hypersensitivity to pitavastatynu or to any of the excipients or other statins;
– severe liver failure, liver disease in the active stage or persistent increase in serum transaminases of unknown etiology (more than 3 times the upper limit of normal [ULN]);
– meaning creatinine clearance (CC) more than 5 times the upper limit of normal;
– myopathy;
– simultaneous cyclosporine therapy.

Administration

The tablet should not be chewed. Livazo can be taken at any time of the day regardless of the meal. It is advisable that the patient took a pill the same time every day. Statin therapy is generally more effective at night because circadian rhythm of lipid metabolism. Patients should be on a diet low in cholesterol before treatment. It is important that patients continue to diet during treatment.
