Gouty arthritis
Treatment of acute gout attacks should be started as soon as possible (within the first 12 hours of the onset of the gout attack). The expected effect will occur within 12 hours.
First, you should take 1 tablet (1 mg of the drug), then after 1 hour – ½ tablet (0.5 mg of the drug). After that, the tablets should not be taken for 12 hours.
If necessary, after 12 hours you can repeat the reception. The maximum daily dose is ½ tablet (0.5 mg of the drug) every 8 hours until the symptoms are relieved.
The course of treatment must be completed after the relief of symptoms or taking 6 tablets (6 mg). During the course of treatment, no more than 6 tablets (6 mg) should be taken.
A repeated course of treatment is carried out no earlier than 3 days (72 hours) after the end of the previous course.
Prevention of gout attacks: adults should take ½-1 tablet (0.5-1 mg of the drug) per day for no more than 6 months. The individual duration of treatment should be determined after evaluating factors such as the frequency of exacerbations, the duration of the disease, and the presence and size of tophi.
Acute and recurrent pericarditis
The recommended daily dose of colchicine for acute and recurrent pericarditis is ½–1 tablet (0.5 mg–1 mg) per day: 0.5 mg twice a day for adult patients with body weight > 70 kg or 0.5 mg once a day adult patients weighing ≤ 70 kg, or patients intolerant of higher doses for at least six months in recurrent pericarditis and at least three months in acute pericarditis.
In most clinical studies, the dose of colchicine used is 1 tablet (1 mg).
For oral use. The tablet can be swallowed whole or divided into 2 halves along the fracture line to obtain a single dose of 0.5 mg.
The recommended dose may vary depending on the patient’s kidney and liver function.
