Ciprofloxacin Indications

Infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to the drug, including mixed aerobic-anaerobic infections, protozoan infections:

respiratory tract – pleurisy, empyema, lung abscess;

ENT – chronic sinusitis, mastoiditis;

Skin and soft tissue – infected ulcers, abscesses, cellulitis, soft tissue infections in diabetic patients;

gastrointestinal tract – bacterial diarrhea, dysentery, amoebiasis and other mixed infection of the gastrointestinal tract;

intra-abdominal infections; gynecological infections;

Bone infection – chronic osteomyelitis;

dental infection.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to ciprofloxacin or other fluoroquinolones, hypersensitivity to tinidazole or other 5-nitroimidazole derivatives, organic neurological disorders, blood diseases in history, pregnancy and lactation, children’s age.  

Dosage and administration

And for adults – 1 tablet 2 times a day. Used internally adults 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. Tablets should be swallowed without chewing and drink some liquid. For patients with creatinine clearance 31 to 60 mL / min maximum daily dose should be 2 tablets per day for patients with a creatinine clearance of 30 mL / min or less – 1 tablet per day.
