Calcium gluconate Indications

Hypoparathiosis (latent tetany, osteoporosis), disturbance of vitamin D metabolism (rickets, spasmophilia, osteomalacia), hyperphosphatemia in patients with chronic renal failure. Increased need for calcium (a period of intense growth of children and adolescents, pregnancy, a period of breastfeeding), insufficient content of Ca2 + in food, disturbance of its metabolism in the postmenopausal period, fractures of the bones. Strengthening the elimination of Ca2 + (prolonged bed rest, chronic diarrhea, hypocalcemia with prolonged use of diuretics, antiepileptic drugs, glucocorticosteroids).

Complex therapy: bleeding of different etiologies, allergic diseases (whey disease, urticaria, feverish syndrome, itching, itchy dermatoses, angioedema); bronchial asthma, dystrophic alimentary edema, pulmonary tuberculosis, eclampsia, parenchymatous hepatitis, toxic liver damage, nephritis. Poisoning with salts of magnesium, oxalic acid, soluble salts of fluoric acid (when interacting with calcium gluconate, insoluble and non-toxic calcium oxalate and calcium fluoride are formed).

Contradictions

Hypersensitivity to the drug, predisposition to thrombosis, hypercalcemia, pronounced atherosclerosis, severe renal failure. Children’s age is up to 3 years old.

Dosage & Administration

Internally for adults and children aged 3 years. Take before meals. Before use, the tablet is milled by washing with a little water. Adults: 1-3 g (2-6 tablets) 2-3 times a day.

Children aged 3 years – 1 g (2 tablets), 5-6 years – 1-1.5 g (2-3 tablets), 7-9 years – 1.5-2 g (3-4 tablets), from 10 to 14 years – 2-3 g (4-6 tablets). Take 2-3 times a day. The dose for elderly people should not exceed 2 g per day.

The duration of treatment depends on the duration of the illness and the condition of the patient.
