Maxitrol (dexamethasone + neomycin + polymyxin b)

Maxitrol contains the active ingredient dexamethasone + neomycin + polymyxin b, corticosteroid + antibiotic combination.

It is a combined medecine containing antibiotic neomycin, polymyxin B, as well as glucocorticosteroid dexamethasone. It provides local anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effect.

Used for inflammatory diseases of the eyeball and its appendages when these diseases are caused by microorganisms susceptible to the action of the drug.

Maxitrol effective in chalazion, conjunctivitis, barley and some other diseases.

Posology and Administration

Drops (1 or 2 ) are on the conjunctival sac to 12-16 times a day. When symptoms start to go away the instillation quantity can be reduced to 4-6 times. Treatment generally lasts from 1 to 7 days until healing occurs.
