Xalacom (latanoprost + timolol)

Xalacom contains the active ingredient latanoprost + timolol, ophthalmic antiglaucoma combination (prostaglandin analog + beta-blocker).

Xalacom Indications

Reduction of intraocular pressure in patients with open angle glaucoma and elevated intraocular pressure when there is insufficient response to treatment with beta-blockers or prostaglandin analogs local action.

Dosage & Administration

Adults, including elderly patients.
The recommended dose – 1 drop in the eye (s), 1 per day.

If a dose is missed, treatment should continue for the next scheduled dose. The dose should not exceed 1 drop in the eye (s) one time per day, since the more frequent use of mark latanoprost reduced severity of intraocular pressure lowering effect.
If the patient is assigned more than one ophthalmic drug preparations to be applied to at least a 5 minute interval.

Contradictions

– hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any other component of the drug;
– respiratory tract disease, including asthma or a history of asthma, severe COPD;
– sinus bradycardia, AV-blockade II-III degree cardiac failure, cardiogenic shock;
– pregnancy and breastfeeding;
– child age.
