Medocardil (carvedilol)

Medocardil contains the active ingredient carvedilol, non-selective alpha/beta-blocker.

Medocardil Indications

– hypertension,

– coronary heart disease (stable angina / stenocardia),

– congestive heart failure.

Dosage & Administration

Carvedilol is used as monotherapy or in combination with other drugs.
Chronic heart failure. The recommended starting dose of 3.125 mg two times a day for 14 days (½ tablets of 6.25 mg in the morning and evening). With good tolerability of treatment the patient dose can be increased to 6.25 mg 2 times per day – 1 tablet (6.25 mg) in the morning and evening. Possibly further increasing the dose to 12.5 mg 2 times a day – 2 tablets (6.25 mg) in the morning and evening, then to 25 mg 2 times a day – 1 tablet (25 mg) in the morning and evening.

The maximum recommended dose: 25 mg 2 times per day (1 tablet of 25 mg in the morning and evening) for patients weighing <85 kg; 50 mg 2 times a day (2 tablets of 25 mg in the morning and evening) patients with body weight> 85 kg.
AG. The recommended initial dose – 12,5 mg 1 time per day during the first 2 days.

The maintenance dose is 25 mg / day. With insufficient dose hypotensive effect can be increased by 2 times at intervals of 14 days. The maximum recommended daily dose is 50 mg once a day 1 or 2 times a day.

Stable angina. The recommended starting dose – 12.5 mg 2 times a day during the first two days. Subsequently – 25 mg 2 times a day.

Contradictions

Hypersensitivity to carvedilol or other components of the preparation. Cardiogenic shock, sick sinus syndrome, hypotension, badikardiya – heart rate <50 beats / min, metabolic acidosis, untreated pheochromocytoma, edema, asthma, severe liver failure..
