Olmesar (olmesartan)

Olmesar contains the active ingredient olmesartan, ARB.

Olmesar Indications

Essential hypertension.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the drug. Obstruction of bile ducts. Second and third trimester of pregnancy. Children age.

Dosage & Administration

Adults.

Doctor sets individually the dose and duration of treatment for each patient !

Tablets are taken in the same time, regardless of the meal, such as during breakfast.

The recommended starting dose of olmesartan medoxomil – 10 mg 1 time a day. If blood pressure reduction is insufficient, the dose increased to the optimal daily dose – 20 mg.

If there is a need for a further reduction in blood pressure, olmesartan medoxomil dose increased to the maximum daily dose – 40 mg or hydrochlorothiazide therapy to apply more. The maximum antihypertensive effect is achieved after 8 weeks of therapy, although significant effect of lowering blood pressure has been observed after 2 weeks of treatment.

Elderly patients.

Elderly patients administered the same dose as adults. When the dose of 40 mg should monitor their blood pressure.
